appointments
Anyone can make an appointment to see a clinical psychologist. Referrals are received from parents, carers, GPs, paediatricians, psychiatrists, school staff, individuals and groups.
- If you or your child has a written referral from your doctor as part of a Mental Health Care Plan you may be eligible for a Medicare rebate. Your Medicare rebate can be processed on site.
- You may also be eligible for a rebate if you have private health insurance, this can also be processed on site.
general practitioners, psychiatrists & paediatricians
Patients may be referred via a written referral. It is also beneficial to include a copy of the patient's Mental Health Care Plan in the referral. Patients may be eligible under Medicare to receive six treatment sessions, followed by a further four sessions if deemed appropriate. Patients may therefore be eligible to participate in up to ten treatment sessions per calendar year (1st January to the 31st of December) under the Medicare Better Access Scheme.
non-directive pregnancy counselling
Little HeadQuarters is accredited to provide non-directive pregnancy counselling. A maximum of three sessions can be provided under Medicare and the service is available to a person who is currently pregnant or has been pregnant within the last 12 months. Patients may be referred via written referral from their general practitioner.
bulk billing clinic
Limited appointments are available for some clients, particularly adolescents, who are unemployed and who have limited support, with the full fee covered by Medicare and no out of pocket expense charged.
fees & rebates
Fees vary across locations. Medicare rebates are available if you have a referral from your GP or paediatrician.
